Hans J. Marrero
 

Hans J. Marrero has a well-established and respected reputation for being a premier self-defense and hand-to-hand combat instructor. He is considered one of the leading experts in close-quarter combat in the world and is also well known throughout international law enforcement agencies due to his extensive work in anti-terrorism tactics instruction.

During his decorated military career, Gy. Sgt. (Ret.) Marrero served jointly as chief instructor of hand-to-hand combat for the US Marine Corps at Paris Island for more than four years and operated within Special Operations Groups such as US Marine Reconnaissance, US Army Delta Force and Ranger, and US Navy SEALs.

Mr. Marrero possesses black belts in different disciplines of the martial arts including 10th-degree black belt in the Kobushi Sessen-Jutsu system (Feudal Warrior Close Combat Art), Shorinji-Kempo (7th degree), Kyo Kushin Kai-Kan (6th degree), Aikido, Matsukazi-Ryu (Jujitsu), and kickboxing. He is a former Golden Glove boxing champion and was inducted into the Black Belt Martial Arts Hall of Fame in November 2000. He was named “International Instructor of the Year” and was recently given the honor of being knighted by the King of Malaysia in October 2014.

Mr. Marrero is experienced in executive training, specializing in corporate development and strategic planning. He has trained Fortune 500 companies in the fundamentals of leadership and process, such as Niemen Marcus; Merv Griffin Productions; the elite academic institutions of Harvard, Stanford, and MIT; and the business school of William and Mary.

During his 18-year tenure at Taser International as chief instructor, Hans trained in excess of 60,000 military and police instructors around the world. To date, Hans has trained instructors in more than 100 different countries.

In December of 2012, Mr. Marrero became a co-founder and managing member of Achilles Technology Solutions, LLC, and in January of 2015, he co-founded ATS Armor, LLC.
